Smith + Andersen 50th Anniversary
Designed a logo to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Smith + Andersen which started in 1965.
Through my role as Art Director at Smith + Andersen Consulting Engineering, I designed and created a unique logo celebrating the 50th anniversary of the company. Founded in 1965, the theme of the logo design revolved around the ‘groovy’ sixties with bold, colourful swirls and flowers to capture the fun and hippie atmosphere of the time.
Also taking some playful liberties, the design reinterpreted the modern geometric logo with the colourful design overtaking the shapes – as if it were growing out of the logo itself. This represented the roots of the company and demonstrated the company still reflects on its past success and continues to be a bold leader in offering creative solutions to this day.
The final design was adapted to be used in email campaigns and supporting marketing material for the client appreciation event, as well as to raise awareness of the new website design. Other uses included a playful backdrop for the company holiday party and also a theme carried through internal presentations and signage.
